Rita,

I agree. Updating maybe. SPeically on the technical side - widgets, links etc. However - if you have a regular Virtual Assistant, I don't see why that assistant couldn't contribute to the blog via articles about the business from her/his (Virtual Assistant's) perspective.

What is your opinion on this?

Sabine,

You make a valid point regarding outsourcing. It would work for larger companies. However, a Virtual Assistant can assist you with updating your blog.

Rita,

While I agree with your sentiments of blogging leveling the marketing playing field; personally I would not suggest outsourcing your blogging if you're a small business. Blogging allows you to have a voice; a very recognizable voice that becomes a big part of your brand - and if you're a small business owner - in most cases you ARE the brand.

Instead of outsourcing your blog - try to write at least once a week - but start a group blog - with complimentary businesses. That way you have the updates, keep it fresh and your readers interested, yet also preserve that which makes you unique.

Just my two cents...
